Pickleville audiences have loved him and the shows I’ve written about him for over 15 years!
That’s why I’m so excited to announce that we’re bringing him back to the stage this Christmas season for Pickleville On Tour’s production of “Juandito’s Christmas Carol 2022”.
You’ll likely notice that going forward, we’ll be referring to the character simply as “Juandito”, or maybe “El Juandito”, or “Juandito Bajito” when the full name is needed. Let me explain.
Since his very first appearance in 2008, ‘Juanito Bandito’ has been billed as the world’s most dangerous Spanish outlaw. Spanish as in from the country of Spain. He has always been a white man with a super-sick mustache and a wonky Spanglish accent from the European country of Spain.

The word “bandito” is generally understood to reference a specific (and potentially offensive) stereotype. This characterization is not at all aligned with the character I’ve portrayed for so many years on the Pickleville stages.
If you have seen the shows, you know this is the case.
In an effort to eliminate confusion for those who have never seen him in person, the name will now be simply Juandito.
Other than the name, nothing about the character will change.
Mustache?

Stretchy pants?
